Hey, I'm Lucas

Coal dust, camera gear, and a little bit of wanderlust.

I'm a coal miner, photographer, long-haired Jeep guy, and visual storyteller. Blue Collar Hippie is the place where all of those pieces of my life finally get to live under the same name.

For a while, photography took a back seat after weddings and people photography burned me out. Finding my way back meant pointing the camera at what I actually enjoy again: moody weather, waterfalls, backroads, rural places, open landscapes, and badass Jeeps with some character.

I'm not chasing staged perfection. I'm more interested in the real places, machines, and split-second moments that make me want to stop and look twice. This site is part portfolio, part personal project, and eventually a way to help Jeep owners find the rollers I catch along the road.
